I first heard about this project over a cup of coffee with Laura Sisteró. We had just finished a conversation about extraterrestrials (as you do), when she told me about a music film she wanted to shoot on 16mm for a friend of hers, the artist Mtines. The idea? Four songs, but with a narrative thread connecting them all. A concept. A feeling. Being trapped in time.
I was immediately hooked. The thought of crafting a visual story that wove through the music, all on 16mm, felt like a dream project. It was the perfect mix of raw texture, emotion, and cinematic storytelling. More than that, it was an amazing opportunity to collaborate with Laura and see her vision come to life.
This project was all about mood, rhythm, and the sensation of being stuck in a loop—both physically and emotionally. Shooting on film only added to the magic, with all its imperfections making each frame feel alive and unpredictable.
It was an unforgettable shoot, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to get to know Laura and her way of working. Hope you enjoy the result as much as we did making it!
