En Tos Laos

This piece came to life in a strange time. Fresh out of lockdown, with work slowing down to a trickle and the Filomena anticyclone turning everything into a frozen dreamscape, I had just gotten my hands on an Aaton Minima. That alone was reason enough to shoot something.

So, I hit up Adrián with an idea: a video dance, something raw and experimental, where movement, locations, and physical transitions would merge seamlessly with the camera. No rigid plans, no big setups—just a "run and gun" approach, embracing the spontaneity of the moment.

We played with the spaces, letting the choreography guide the camera, flowing from one shot to the next as if the locations themselves were part of the dance. In the end, it was a reminder of why I love shooting on 16mm—because sometimes, you don’t need a reason. You just need a camera, an idea, and a good excuse to press record.
